The Case for Alberta Separation &
Alberta as the 51st American State

ABFree Alberta

Introduction

While many seek to have the province of Alberta separate from Canada and join the USA, not many provide the details of why both sides would do this. What's in it for Albertans past the transfer payment argument and what's in it for Donald Trump and the American people? The answers are clear & yet not well articulated to the people of Alberta or the people of America.

Below are the strongest highlights of the Case for Alberta as the 51st US State for both Americans and the people of Alberta.

Given the current trajectory of Canada, Alberta Separation and Alberta51 are inevitable.

Read the case & make up your own mind as to which path will lead to freedom, hope & prosperity for the people of Alberta and the benefits Alberta would bring to the USA.

Alberta Overview

Annual GDP

$355 Billion

Population

5 Million

Proven Reserves

$12.5 Trillion

Unproven Reserves

$40 Trillion

Economic Trends

Alberta exports $76 Billion to other provinces and imports $73 Billion per year. (1) A net trade surplus of $3 Billion.

Alberta exports to the US are $162 Billion (2) and imports $24 Billion per year. (3) A net surplus of $138 Billion. The far more valuable trade partnership is with the USA.

Albertans pay $245 Billion more to the federal government in basic taxes each year than we get back in services not including carbon tax payments. (4)

Albertans remit over $4 Billion to Ottawa for Carbon Tax each year more than we receive back and this will rise for businesses making it harder to stay financially sustainable and driving up consumer prices. (5) This number does not include Carbon Tax remitted by Alberta businesses or the $37 Billion remitted by municipalities which are passed onto Albertans in higher property taxes and fees. (6)

Alberta has lost $670 Billion in investment under the Liberals since 2015. (7)

Albertans pay $2 Billion in federal gasoline taxes each year. (8)

Alberta spends $26 Billion on health care. (9) Ottawa sends only $6 Billion to fund health in Alberta. (10)

The federal government spends $250 Million each year in Alberta (11) while Ottawa spends over $5 Billion each year in Quebec (12) with additional transfers of $30 Billion each year. (13)

The value of Alberta's current known provable resources is $12.5 Trillion in oil and natural gas (14) and 29.2 Million hectares of natural forest (15) with an annual harvest of 30 Million Cubic Metres.(16) Unproven oil reserves are estimated at another $21 Trillion (17) and unproven gas reserves valued at $20 Trillion. (18) Not counting minerals, this places the current value of Alberta at $14-$15 Trillion with the possibility for another $40 Trillion not counting the value of agricultural and minerals developoment. This is approximately $11 Million each per resident of Alberta.

Alberta's GDP is currently $355 Billion. (19) However without Canada throttling back our industry with regulation, extraction of wealth via taxes and fees and the blockage of exports Alberta's GDP could easily exceed $1 Trillion or higher per year making it the state with the 5th highest GDP just behind CA, NY, TX & FL.(20)

History & Culture

Alberta is a conservative western province with a strong western history and culture. It is consistent with the central USA with similar roots, beliefs, traditions and language. It is not consistent with Quebec culture at all or the maritime provinces.

Land Bridge to Alaska

Alberta joining the USA would put Alaska and the lower 48 only 500 Miles apart. With Northern BC with a population of 200,000. (21) it would make Alaska part of the contiguous USA.

The Free Health Care Facade

Albertans pay an immense price for health care. Almost $50,000 per year per resident is paid to Canada in taxes and fees net of payments back from Canada. (22) A Platinum Plan Health Insurance (highest coverage) is $1600 per month or $18,000 per year USD. (23) Public health care in the US is available for free for those over 65 and low income and the service can be supplemented with additional insurance.

Other Benefits

The USA has Unemployment Insurance up to $800 per week CAD (24) and Social Security from $2500 per month to $7000 per month CAD. (25) In Canada it is $1500 to $2000 per month in CPP and OAS. (26)

Gun Ownership

Gun ownership is a constitutional right for law abiding citizens in the USA.

Gas Prices

$1.05 per litre CAD on average and .89 cents CAD in Texas. (27)

Income Taxes

States with zero income tax include: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. (28) US federal taxes are comparable to Canada taxes except in the US mortgage interest is deductible and car loan interest is proposed to be deductible along with no taxes on tips & overtime.

The Case

Under proper management, the people of Alberta could see a massive increase in their personal wealth by separating from Canada and joining the USA from access to world markets and global investment and the ability to keep the proceeds of their resources. They would instantly become some of the wealthiest citizens on earth. The USA would get both secure energy reserves, a land bridge to Alaska, an additional 5+ Million conservative freedom loving patriots, unending food supplies, vast lumber and other resources and minerals, direct access to spectacular natural beauty and the potential for $Trillions in new economic stimulus for the entire nation.

The only question is why wouldn't anyone want hope, prosperity and freedom as part of their future and the future of their family or to welcome more hope, prosperity and freedom into their country.
