The facade that we live in a democratic society is very much infused in the psyche of many young adults. They actually believe that the political system of their parents is the same political system today. Nothing could be further from the truth. Your freedom is a sham, a facade, a fake news item of immeasurable proportion but still we believe that we have control over who runs as a candidate and who we vote for. However if you lift the veil even slightly you will see a vast architecture of elites who use money to game the system and in return their 'investments' pay dividends in vast government projects and spending that line their pockets and the pockets of their families and friends making them the upper 1%. This is the world of the PAC or political action committee and there is a very good reason why they are not banned from participating in politics. If they were, then the power would return to the people instead of the elites and the gravy train might end.
The most direct approach is to control the election. By 'election' we mean the act of voting for a candidate in any election including the board of the local constituency association and by control we mean controlling the entire election process from choosing the candidates to represent the party to ensuring that the people running the elections work for you. It is very simple to provide the facade of a fair election by going through the theatrics of providing ballots, checking voters and counting results but it is an illusion. There are many steps along the way between a voter and an election result in which the count can be manipulated in your favor. You just need the right people in the right place. If the 'wrong' voters are confused or unable to vote or you have redrawn the riding boundaries to ensure they are overwhelmed by your supporters, then the results will skew in your candidates favor. But who runs the elections and sets the boundaries? Government appointed individuals that's who and if you own the politicians, then you pick who controls the election and how it is run.
The next point of control is the ballot on which your candidates can be placed at the top, write in candidates removed, hand out only erasable pencils or ballot initiatives obscured by hiding the question like in the Calgary fluoride vote. If all that fails then the next point of attack is in those who count or validate the ballots. If they are your people then you can once against sway the result by getting rid of or miscounting a few ballots here or there. This works even better if you own the ballot counting software where machines are used. Exceptionally easy to succeed especially if you also control who audits the results. Finally if all else fails simply present the results you want and use the courts to block recounts, transparency or anything else that will expose the charade. Of course to shore up this process the best and legal method is to simply out spend the other candidate usually through a PAC or political action committee.
To see how the game operates we need to first understand what a PAC is. A PAC is a special group that is unregulated. In fact the only regulation made for PAC is that they cannot donate as a single entity directly to the campaign of a politician greater than the maximum allowable amount (which is quite large) and this amount must be declared by the candidate. However there are many ways around this restriction such as buying advertising directly or giving the money to others to donate under their name in exchange for keeping a share for 'expenses'. Remember that the goal is to first get your people into power in the party of your choosing and then attempt to manipulate the election via well placed media stories as well as advertising both direct (in support of) and indirectly (by attacking and undermining the opposing parties). It is pretty easy to see when propaganda and manipulation is being used as the messaging will all be one sided (i.e. no opposing viewpoints). The interesting thing is that these 3rd party advertisers are not 'restricted' in how much they can spend in that only direct advertising is considered. All indirect activities are considered 'perfectly legal' as per Jason Kenney. But before you think shifty 3rd party groups are exclusive to right wing parties think again, both the left and the center are infested with special interest groups and elites gaming the system. Yes even you Rachel. No sense in hiding the support of those giant unions and government suppliers and the wealthy who just want a socialist party to be in power.
In all cases the game is the same. Take over a party by buying memberships, limit access to voting by the members so that only 'your people' vote at the AGM (also known as stuffing the board). Change or alter the bylaws of the party to ensure 'your people' maintain control and select the leader they want to win. This is the exact recipe Jason used to miraculously gain power in the UCP and its exactly what was supposed to happen at the AGM where insiders tried to alter the bylaws to block constituency associations from forcing a leadership review only to be narrowly defeated. The technique is now being fine tuned for the upcoming leadership vote as many in the party work to oust Jason. However already 3rd party actors are paying for memberships and transportation to the leadership vote where they will attempt to keep Kenney as party leader. Voting Jason out will take an act of god to overcome the power and money of those behind the scenes seeking to keep control but even more difficult will be overcoming those behind the scenes at the vote who manage the ballots and count.
Once the bylaws have been 'fixed' and the leader selected long before any leadership vote, the next stage is to divide and conquer. Divide the population into two camps, divide them further through well placed and well constructed content purposely designed to infuriate. The goal is to keep the camps divided as close to 50/50 as possible. Of course even if the camps are far apart, rigging the election to a very close win provides the illusion that the vote was fair even if the opposing side lost. This is how the fluoride vote worked in Calgary where the ballot question was put at the bottom of the ballot nearly impossible to see and why the people were never given a 'no vote' option to select and told to use permanent pen instead of an erasable pencil. Even the act of recounts requires a visit to the court to force Elections Alberta to perform a recount as was seen after the YYC election (the court denied the request). As well, many of the ballots were never even counted or audited. The 'count machines' did the work but they themselves are secret black boxes that are not audited before, during and after an election. In fact independent public election auditing isn't even a thing in Canada.
Back to 3rd party wealthy elites and their PACs. The real power begins with control over the party. When Donald Trump stole the Republican Party nomination from the elites he caused a failure in their election rigging system due to overwhelming support. Like a flood breaching a poorly constructed dike, Trump set off a chain reaction among elites to remove him from office but more importantly to shore up the weaknesses in their system for the next election. There was simply no way that their chosen candidate Hillary could not win. When she didn't, it set off a thunderous wake up call to the elites that they had dropped the ball and taken their eye off the prize due to their own arrogance and they decided at that point to ensure they never again make the same mistake. They implemented a three step plan. Step 1 is to take firm control over the party process including changing the bylaws to permit less oversight over things like membership sales and to control the policies regarding leadership voting. Step 2 is to stack the deck by loading memberships on those who will vote your way. They can be anyone who can be made to meet the criteria including people who do not live in a province or even dead people. As long as someone casts a vote the way that you want them to, step #1 will take care of any oversight issues. Step 3 is to find creative ways to spend money to buy the election. Once again step #1 to the rescue. After your candidates have won the election, it will be easy to alter election laws with subtle changes that will open up wide loopholes to permit more secretive 3rd party support.
There once was a time before election rigging was completely hidden by the elites where political party operations were relatively transparent, election spending was controlled and breaking the rules led to jail and the immediate removal of the candidate. The way around these restrictions for elites was to loosen the rules over 3rd party activities using personal privacy as the pry to give those with the most money the freedom to rig any election. Today secretive 3rd party special interest groups control our elections from the people we vote for to our perception that the votes were 'really close'. They do this buy controlling mainstream media and the candidate selection process. This provides a carefully crafted illusion of choice widely distributed by media owned and controlled or bought by the exact same elites.
Of course the politicians and media will announce the battle cry of 'conspiracy theory' but if that is the case then why won't they just outlaw 3rd party electioneering and party rigging and open up wide all information about who is behind and funding the party and the candidates? Why is it that representation is centralized and all parties seem to have the exact same policies and how is it possible for disliked politicians to make lifetime careers in public office without term limits or right of recall?
None of this is by accident and the manipulation is getting worse each day. You only need to trust your own common sense and ask why Jason won't ban 3rd party special interest manipulation of the UCP and why Rachel won't do the same for the NDP? Unless the voters change the way politics works we are doomed to lose all rights, power and what little equality there is. If we do not do something then all hope and freedom will be lost and our children will suffer under tyranny.
The trucker convoys in Canada were initially about vaccine mandates and fairness but it has morphed into a trial of those governments who take away our individual rights and freedoms and give them to the tyranny of the elite and their mobs. We want to return to a world that is not divided, to a country that is fair and equitable. Where respect is the highest goal and no one feels targeted by the group. The era of socialism must end and be replaced with and era of individualism and we must celebrate what makes us unique instead of demanding conformity to the group. It starts by taking back our governments from groups and returning the power back into the hands of the people. It ends by forcing change and choosing those who will put our individual rights and freedoms above all else and who promise to bust open the shields that keep our government wrapped in secrecy.
We need to select politicians and parties that represent the views of the majority of constituents while respecting the minority through equality, not of outcome, but of opportunity.
Stand for your rights and freedoms. They are yours. Do not let any group or anyone take your rights away. Force change.
